Referral by physician, general hospital, or other health care practitioner * patients are assessed by the crisis outreach social worker and then either admitted to Elmgrove or arrangements for appropriate treatment are made * referring organizations and physicians should call the Admissions Clerk at ext 2644

Description of Services:

Hospital-based acute care mental health services for adult patients who are 16 years or older * assessment is initiated in the BGH department on call duty psychiatrist. Assessment short-term inpatient treatment and consultations while hospitalized on the inpatient unit which consists of 24 beds * multi-disciplinary team includes psychologists, registered nurses * registered practical nurses * recreation therapists and medical physicians
